New area codes, 10-digit dialing, coming to New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador

OTTAWA - Ten-digit dialing is coming to New Brunswick as well as Newfoundland and Labrador by 2020, the CRTC announced Thursday.The new area code 428 will provide relief for area code 506 in New Brunswick beginning November 21, 2020 using a distributed overlay, meaning the two area codes will coexist and will cover the same geographic area, reads the decision.
