Network DVR on side with U.S. copyright law

WASHINGTON – A decision yesterday by an American appeals court could clear the way to making millions of cable’s legacy digital set top boxes capable of becoming digital video recorders. According to a report in Multichannel News, a federal appeals court in the States ruled that Time Warner Cable’s network DVR technology does not violate U.S. copyright law, as some content owners and broadcasters had alleged in a lawsuit.
