Multi-platform match on Videotron

MONTREAL – Videotron, INTERBOX and La Cage aux Sports announced Friday a partnership that will give Quebec boxing fans multiple ways to see the Lucian Bute/Jose Spearman fight on June 3rd.

Besides buying a ticket to see the event live, fight fans can also watch it via closed circuit television (delivered via Videotron) at La Cage aux Sports restaurants across Quebec, or on the Internet in Videotron’s High Speed Zone and then again the next day on Videotron’s illico on demand VOD service.

The fight features Montreal’s Lucian Bute’s defence of his NABA super-middleweight title against Jose Spearman of the U.S. Adrian Diaconu, Benoit Gaudet, Antonin Decarie and David Whittom are also on the fight card.

For the first time in Quebec, a title fight will be carried live on the web at Videotron’s High-Speed Zone. Videotron subscribers who watch the event in cyberspace will get the full fight experience, accompanied by commentary, analysis and exclusive interviews.

The web feed will be available exclusively to subscribers to Videotron’s High-Speed Internet or Extreme High-Speed Internet services for no additional cost.

Finally, the 355,000 subscribers to Videotron’s illico Digital TV service will be able to watch the fights free of charge in the comfort of their homes as of noon the next day. The video on demand service can be accessed through all illico set-top boxes. Videotron’s illico on Demand service offers over a thousand titles, more than 350 of which are free.
