WINNIPEG – Residents of Steinbach will soon have access to the next generation of HD television and some of the fastest broadband connections available once MTS deploys its fibre-to-the-home network (FiON) in the community over the coming months.
"MTS has a strong record of investment in Manitoba, and this project will make our services in Steinbach even better by providing customers with the latest fibre optic technology," said president Kelvin Shepherd, in the announcement. "This next generation network will supply a huge amount of bandwidth directly into our customer’s home, providing excellent support for our current telephone and high-speed Internet services, while laying the groundwork for delivering new services for many years to come."
MTS has pledged to invest $125 million over the next five years to make its Ultimate TV service available to an additional 120,000 homes in close to 20 Manitoba communities through the deployment of its fibre optic network.
