WINNIPEG – MTS Allstream has reached a tentative contract deal with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) covering approximately 780 Manitoba-based workers who install and repair telephone, Internet and TV lines.
A federal conciliator reportedly helped broker the deal hours before the workers were in a position to strike on Tuesday.
The agreement is subject to ratification by IBEW members, and the results will be known later this month.
