MTS rolls out FTTH network in Minnedosa, part of $125 million deployment


MINNEDOSA, MB – MTS has launched its MTS FiON fibre-to-the-home network and Ultimate TV service in Minnedosa, Manitoba.

"MTS is excited to bring state-of-the-art telecom services to Minnedosa," said MTS President Kelvin Shepherd. "About one-third of Minnedosa residents now have access to MTS Ultimate TV and some of the fastest Internet speeds in Manitoba, and we plan to bring these services to most of Minnedosa by the end of next spring."

MTS is investing $125 million over several years to deploy its fibre-to-the-home network to 120,000 homes in Manitoba. Since 2010, MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network in Selkirk, Steinbach, Dauphin, Thompson, The Pas, Neepawa, Carberry, Minnedosa, select areas of Winnipeg, and will be coming soon to Killarney.

MTS's fibre optic network offers Minnedosa residents MTS Ultimate TV that features more than 110 HD channels and its whole home PVR that enables viewers to pause and rewind live TV from any room in the house. The service also features a wide variety of informative and entertaining apps, a line-up of more than 350 digital TV and music channels, and access to video on demand and pay-per-view events.

The MTS FiON Network also includes three new high-speed Internet plans with download speeds of up to 250 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 30 Mbps. They offer unlimited usage and are exclusive to communities where MTS has launched the MTS FiON Network.
