WINNIPEG – MTS has selected 20 finalists from youth-serving organizations in Manitoba as part of its Future First initiative, a new community grant program focused on improving the lives of the province’s young people.

Manitobans are invited to vote online for their top picks from April 7 – 19. A shortlist of 15 projects will move forward to a final selection committee of community leaders who will determine the final 10 community grants recipients for this year.  MTS will present the 10 grants of $10,000 each on Manitoba Day, May 12, 2014.

"We were overwhelmed by the response to our first community grant offering under MTS Future First," said CEO Pierre Blouin, in the news release.  "We received more than 100 outstanding applications, and now we want as many Manitobans as possible to be involved in the selection process. MTS Future First is all about supporting young Manitobans and creating the kind of community we want for generations to come. And we want Manitobans to have a voice in shaping our collective future."
