MTS offers domestic and international LTE roaming

WINNIPEG – MTS said Monday that its customers may now access LTE wireless service in more than 80 urban centres across Canada, and LTE roaming in several international locations, including most major urban centres in the U.S.

When travelling outside of Manitoba with an MTS 4G LTE wireless device, customers will roam across Canada and internationally on 4G wireless networks, including 4G HSPA+ networks in over 200 countries and on 4G LTE networks in a growing number of international markets.

LTE roaming is automatically enabled for MTS customers on an LTE device, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, BlackBerry Q10, and Sony Xperia ZL, which will seamlessly transfer to LTE where available.  The regional telco is also offering U.S. and international data travel packs for pre-purchase.

"MTS is proud that our customers have the ability to stay connected to LTE while travelling outside of Manitoba," said president Kelvin Shepherd, in the news release.  "MTS customers can connect to LTE in over 80 locations in Canada, and we are one of only two Canadian carriers to announce the launch of international LTE roaming."
