MTS cutting workforce in Manitoba


WINNIPEG – MTS announced a voluntary workforce reduction program to its Manitoba employees Tuesday, a move it says will improve its cost structure.The company said that the offer covers both union and non-union employees, and that the majority of the positions are back office support functions.  The number of reductions will be determined by employee interest in the voluntary workforce reduction program as well as organizational needs, reads the announcement.MTS pledged to use its streamlined cost structure to fund investments to enhance the customer experience, and added that a smaller workforce "will position the company post the sale of its Allstream division"."We want...
