MTS celebrates 100,000th TV subscriber

WINNIPEG – MTS said Monday that it has signed up its 100,000 television subscriber, nine years after first launching its digital TV service in Manitoba. The MTS Classic TV service debuted in 2003, and the company’s IPTV service, known as MTS Ultimate TV, launched in 2009 making MTS the first Canadian provider to offer the Microsoft Mediaroom platform. MTS Ultimate TV is currently available to 95% of Winnipeg households as well as in Brandon, Portage La Prairie, Selkirk, Dauphin and a growing number of homes in Steinbach, Thompson and The Pas.
