MTS Allstream network restored, some problems remain in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – MTS Allstream announced that its network was restored at 8:20 p.m. Central time after going down earlier in the day at about 2:30 p.m. The telco said the outage was caused by a contractor fibre cut in the Winnipeg area that affected a portion of its national network. As a result, the local voice services in the areas of greater Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton were affected as was some long-distance voice traffic on MTS Allstream’s network across Canada.
