TORONTO – MTS Allstream Inc. on Wednesday announced that it has launched Secure Connect, an “in-the-cloud” security capability for its national business IP/MPLS network. The application embeds the latest Unified Threat Management (UTM) technology into MTS Allstream’s national IP network architecture, and ups the standards for firewall and VPN services to customers, according to MTS.
“Unlike traditional enterprise security solutions, which are perimeter based and rely on the customers’ own infrastructure, Secure Connect takes network protection to a new level, incorporating best-in-class technology to deliver clean and secure bandwidth to customers of all sizes,” said MTS Allstream Enterprise Solutions president John MacDonald. “Excited as we are to enable firewall capabilities of this type we are even more excited for the future, where building on our network investments we will be able to offer complete ‘in-the-cloud’ UTM solutions, including DDoS, IDS/IPS, Anti-X, content filtering and more.”
In its initial offering, MTS said, Secure Connect makes high-performance, secure network connectivity more feasible for customers with remote sites and branch offices.
