Moxi technology takes home “most likely to succeed” crown at Innovation Showcase

TORONTO – The Moxi whole home media solution from ARRIS was named the ‘Technology Most Likely To Succeed’ at the Innovation Showcase at the SCTE Canadian Summit on Tuesday.

Moxi’s demonstration featured the Moxi UI, Moxi media platform with Moxi HD DVR and Moxi Mate multi-room players, and Moxi Portal. The system is designed to time- and place-shift the delivery of media content, whether via digital cable, the home network or integrated Internet services, throughout the home where Moxi is available.

“The Moxi HD DVR and Moxi Mate products provide a very compelling solution for cable operators,” said Steve Irvine, EastLink Cable’s VP of technology and contact for the Innovation Showcase, in the announcement. “Providing MSOs with the ability to convert standard SD and HD broadcast video to IP within the home, and to offer whole-home DVR, remote recording, access to online content and an award winning guide makes the Moxi solution a very attractive prospect.”

The Moxi whole home media solution was one of five products and solutions demonstrated at the inaugural Innovation Showcase.  All five were designed to drive new value for cable system operators in areas ranging from content management and bandwidth usage management to bandwidth reclamation and identity theft.  The winner was selected by SCTE Canadian Summit attendees using mobile text messaging.
