Mountain Cablevision hires new president


HAMILTON – Mountain Cablevision has hired John Piercy as its new president.

He replaces Les Boris in the president’s chair, said a release from Les and Owen Boris, founder and chairman of Mountain Cablevision.

While Mr. Piercy (pictured) will be responsible for the overall operation of the company. Les Boris will now assume the position of CEO and will continue to provide strategic guidance to Mountain.

Piercy is an experienced leader with a strong background in managing technology based companies, says the release. Prior to launching his own consulting service, he was an investment partner at BCE Capital.

His previous roles include president of OnSite Access Canada and vice-president of Marketing for Leitch Technologies and AT&T Canada (now Allstream). Piercy’s guidance comes at a unique time for Mountain Cablevision, as it is poised for continued strong growth with its digital cable, HDTV and high speed Internet products, not to mention the company’s launch of voice over Internet protocol telephony. “Mr. Piercy is committed to growing the company and will continue in the proud tradition set forth by the Boris family over 45 years ago,” adds the release.
