PRINCE RUPERT, B.C. – CityWest recorded over 1,200 votes for the cover photo of its 2019 phone book, with a snap by local photographer Robb Rydde winning the honour.
Rydde’s photo of a wooden boat at Rushbrook Floats (pictured) is his fourth cover image in six years.
CityWest said that it received 75 submissions for the cover this year, which were whittled down to 10 by staff. Voting opened on August 24, and by the time the polls closed earlier this week, Rydde’s photo had captured 51% of the total. In addition to bragging rights, he will receive three months of free CityWest services.
The phone book will be distributed to all homes and businesses in Prince Rupert in November.
“We received a huge response to this survey, both in voting and on our Facebook page,” said CityWest marketing director Chris Armstrong, in the news release. “It was fantastic to see such engagement from our customers, and it’s an annual event that our entire staff looks forward to each year.”
