More rapid UBF funding for small communities near Ottawa

OTTAWA – The Government of Canada announced last week that Rogers Communications will receive $620,000 to bring high-speed Internet to the Carlsbad Springs area of rural Ontario as part of the Universal Broadband Fund’s rapid response stream. The funding will help “connect 146 underserved households in the Carlsbad Springs area, around the communities of Navan, Vars and Blackburn Hamlet, to high-speed Internet,” according to a press release from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada.
