ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – EchoStar Communications along with security partner NagraStar and Canadian DTH company Bell ExpressVu have seized satellite equipment and customer records of a number of satellite piracy companies.
The company announced today that the companies jointly conducted civil search and seizure raids throughout Ontario in a hunt for pirated satellite services and devices.
Multiple businesses and residences were simultaneously searched and the companies seized a number of unauthorized devices used to circumvent the security of encrypted satellite signals, as well as sales and customer records and other documents, says an EchoStar release.
The following were served with the seizure orders: Tomico-satellites.com, tomicoind.com, Tomico industries, tomicoreviews.com, electronics-elite.com, sales-dynamics-firm.com, dsswholesaledirect.com, EZDish.com, EZ123DISH.com, EZsatellite.tv, greendish.com and scardz.com – as well as Ontario residents Steve Rodgers, Troy Megill, Sarkar Azmi and Wes Hadley.
EchoStar, NagraStar and ExpressVu "will continue to fight those who try to circumvent the security system by illegally intercepting the satellite signal being provided to legitimate customers," added the release.
