More broadband for the Avalon Peninsula

OTTAWA – The federal government will spend $233,000 to bring better broadband to 335 households in Tors Cove and Mobile, Newfoundland. The funding, just like the many announcements of late, is from the rapid response stream of the $1.75 billion Universal Broadband Fund. That means it’s supposed to get done before the end of this year. Bell Canada will use the money to extend its network for this fibre project and contribute $142,500 towards it.
