Mobilicity calls for stronger cell phone regulations in Ontario

TORONTO - Mobilicity is urging the Ontario government to follow the example set by Manitoba and Quebec and pass its own legislation designed to “end unfair practices by wireless carriers”.The new wireless entrant said Thursday that it has contacted the Ontario Minister of Consumer Services in support of Bill 133, a private member’s bill introduced last November by Liberal MPP David Orazietti that calls for greater protection for cell phone customers.  The bill would require wireless carriers to provide clear disclosure of all optional and mandatory services and contract cancellation penalties, and limit contract termination fees.Mobilicity said that it "strongly supports" the...
