VANCOUVER and OTTAWA – Mobilicity continued the roll out of its new wireless service, adding Vancouver and Ottawa to its service area.
Dressed in magenta-hued fatigues (Mobilicity’s signature colour) and singing the praises of contract-free unlimited wireless, the ‘Magenta Militia’ paraded through Vancouver while Mobilicity executives held a press conference nearby at the carrier’s corporate store in Richmond.
The company’s 3.5G network launched on Thursday with over 100 points of distribution in the Greater Vancouver Area.
Then it was on to the nation’s capital to mark the network’s arrival in Ottawa-Gatineau on Friday.
“If you like contracts, go to law school,” chairman John Bitove said in reference to an advertising campaign that the carrier ran in Ottawa, last year. “But if you’d like to keep more of your hard-earned money, don’t lock in with incumbent carriers who keep short-changing consumers with surprise charges, extra fees and bad customer service.”
Mobilicity phones and plans are available at more than 20 local points of distribution, including its corporate store in Nepean, exclusive Mobilicity dealers, national retailers and other non-exclusive dealers, as well as on-line. The carrier said that it will have over 30 local locations by the end of the year.
