MMOGs for tweens

TORONTO – Canadian tweens (who are kids who aren’t quite teenagers and aren’t quite young kids any more) have a new massively multiplayer online game site to explore.

Thebigrip.com is the gateway to a virtual world in which players can play, explore, chat, compete, collect, create and customize characters in a safe online environment, says the press release.

"MMOGs are one of the fastest growing segments in online games," says Lucie Lalumiere, vice president and general manager Interactive, Corus Television. "This initiative builds on our expertise for creating innovative content and great entertainment experiences for tweens that is age-appropriate. With the launch of The Big Rip we’ve created a rich and immersive game community that enables tweens to interact with our content and with other players in an unparalleled way, while offering a depth of customization and creativity that is unmatched in the marketplace."

Built into the beta version of The Big Rip is the flagship world GalaXseeds representing the first of more worlds to come.
