TORONTO – Former CHUM legalist and executive Peter Miller has joined S-VOX, the owner of VisionTV and provider of programming content on spirituality, faith, personal growth and wellness.
Mark Prasuhn, who previously performed double duty as S-VOX’s chief operating officer and senior vice-president, programming, will move into the newly created position of chief content officer. He will be responsible for programming all five of the company’s broadcast services (Vision, One: Body, Mind & Spirit, The Christian Channel, CHNU-TV Vancouver, and CIIT-TV Winnipeg), as well as overseeing the development and delivery of content on its digital platforms, and will chair S-VOX’s production and distribution arm, VisionTV International.
Peter Miller, a broadcasting industry professional with 20 years of broadcast and telecommunications experience, joins S-VOX today as COO. In this capacity, he will oversee the Toronto-based company’s technical operations and broadcast systems, advertising sales, business development, legal, marketing and communications, and affiliate relations functions.
The appointments, effective immediately, follow S-VOX’s recent acquisition of the local over-the-air stations CHNU-TV in Vancouver and CIIT-TV in Winnipeg.
Prasuhn has been a key member of S-VOX’s executive management since joining the company in 2001, and led the successful launches of One: the Body, Mind & Spirit channel and The Christian Channel. He has served as COO since November 2001, and assumed responsibility for programming in March 2007.
"Under Mark Prasuhn’s leadership, we have realigned our entire programming strategy, and have realized significant growth in viewership. With new channels joining the S-VOX stable and content creation for multiple platforms assuming greater importance, Mark and his team will play a pivotal role in ensuring our continued success,” said S-VOX president and CEO Bill Roberts, in the press release.
Miller is a communications lawyer and engineer whose background includes private practice and executive roles at CHUM Limited and the Canadian Association of Broadcasters.
As a small, independent broadcaster with a growing portfolio of television properties, S-VOX faces unique challenges in the marketplace. Peter Miller’s skills as a strategic thinker and negotiator and his breadth of knowledge on issues ranging from emerging technologies to the regulatory environment will make him an indispensable addition to our leadership team," added Roberts.
