Middlesex County gets $1.8M in high-speed internet funding

MIDDLESEX COUNTY – The federal and Ontario government announced $1.8 million to bring high-speed internet to homes and businesses in Middlesex County. The money, which is fed through the non-profit corporation Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) Inc., will go to deliver access to 640 homes, farms and businesses in the county communities of Putman, Crampton, Avon, Mossley, Harrietsville, Gladstone, Kerwood, Napperton and Strathroy. The Ontario government is racing to provide access to 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload internet service to the entire province by 2025.
