TORONTO – Meteorologist Michael Kuss is moving from Global to Citytv starting June 26. He’ll be the meteorologist for CityNews at Six and CityNews Tonight.
Kuss is taking over duties from Harold Hosein, who "has decided to move on," according to a Citytv spokesperson. Hosein is launching his own business this fall.
“As we move forward with our multi-platform news strategy that involves CityNews, CP24, our website citynews.ca and wireless, Michael is the perfect person to lead these initiatives," said Stephen Hurlbut, Vice-President, News, Citytv and Vice-President and General Manager, CP24. "Michael fits our newsroom. He has the style, the personality, and most importantly, the expertise.”
Kuss has been in front of the camera since 1993, when he graduated from Saint Louis University in Missouri with degrees in meteorology and Communication. He’s been a TV meteorologist at RDTV in Red Deer, Alta., The Weather Network in Toronto, A-Channel in Edmonton, and Global in Toronto.
“I’ve always viewed Citytv as part of the fabric of Toronto, the voice of the people of this great city. It’s a dream and an honour to be a member of the tremendous CityNews team,” said Kuss. “It’s my mission to bring the most accurate, up-to-date, as well as entertaining forecasts to Torontonians on CityNews, CP24, as well as the progressing new media streams CHUM is leading the way in.”
