WHILE WE’LL STILL be covering the news as it happens on Cartt.ca, our newsletters are taking a little holiday break. Today’s newsletter will be the final regular one until January 4th as those of us at Cartt.ca pause to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
If there’s REALLY BIG news over the holidays, we’ll be on it of course, but the entire industry generally quiets down quite a bit between now and the first week of January so that’s when we schedule our break, too.
We’ll be coming back strong right away in the new year as Cartt.ca consumer electronics editor John Bugailiskis will be on the floor at the world’s largest consumer electronics expo, the International CES show, from January 6 to 9, filing daily reports, so look for special alerts that week.
Then in February is the CFTPA’s Prime Time conference in Ottawa and March will see the SCTE Canadian Summit, which Cartt.ca is the media sponsor. And that’s just in the first quarter.
On the regulatory front, just before the mid-February Prime Time, we will see Bell Canada face the Commission to explain its purchase of CTV and then June will see the next hearing on vertical integration.
As well, watch for our popular Cartt.ca In-Depth publication to continue through 2011 and maybe even for some additional new wrinkles from us in the new year.
So, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or best wishes for whatever goodwill celebration you may hold dear at this time of year.
And to all of our readers and advertisers, we thank you so much for your support throughout 2010, and all the best in 2011 and good luck with your New Year’s resolutions…
Sincerely,
Greg O’Brien
