Merging Media gathering fast-approaching

VANCOUVER – Since its 2010 inception, the Merging Media Conference has brought together leaders from across diverse media disciplines to explore the challenges and opportunities of creating cross-media content and this year’s gathering is set for November 6-7 on Granville Island.

Film and television producers, advertisers, interactive content creators, digital media consultants, mobile and web developers, broadcasters, writers, and interactive content creators will all be there.

Highlights for this year include the introduction of Global Edition including Pitch 360 and Biz Connect, featuring leaders from France, Sweden, the U.K., Australia and North America. As part of the Global Edition, the pilot initiative Projects Seeking Partners invites producers from other parts of the world who are actively seeking co-productions with Canada to pitch their cross-media projects at the event, says a release touting the event. For 2013, European Producers from France and the Nordic Region have been invited to present their projects at the Creative B.C. Pitch 360 Parlour during the event on Nov 7, 2013, with the objective of finding Canadian partners to develop and co-produce their cross-media projects.

Noted cross-media and brand development folks such as Kathy Franklin (Avatar), Lara Hoefs (The Twilight Saga), Brian Seth Hurst (The Opportunity Management Company) and Sara Moscowitz (Syfy) from across North American and global speakers such as Liz Rosenthal (Power to the Pixel), Christopher Sandberg (The company P), Gary Hayes (Storylabs.us) and Alison Norrington will all be on hand.
