MARKHAM, Ont. – Versant Solutions Group today announced that Mediacom Communications, a top-10 U.S. cable operator, has selected its NetVersant automated network design solution, and is set to commence deployment in early 2021.
The NetVersant Design solution will allow Mediacom to run multiple design scenarios to produce technically compliant, cost-optimized preliminary designs for access network upgrades “in hours and days rather than weeks and months,” reads the press release. “NetVersant Design delivers significant time and cost savings to operators by using software-based automation to do what it’s best at, while maximizing the effectiveness of their valuable network planners and engineers.”
“We set out to find a way to use advances in computer science to significantly save both time and money in the design and construction of access networks so that operators can more quickly make really well-informed decisions about what network architecture to deploy in any given part of their access network,” said Ian Oliver, president, Versant Solutions Group.
“NetVersant Design allows operators to find the sweet spot in choosing a network architecture and do it fast.”
The consumer and business demand, leading to the sheer volume of work facing operators in fiber-deep hybrid fibre-coaxial networks and FTTx upgrades within existing footprints means speed, optimization and strategic insights, are crucial to meeting expansion goals – as well as being able to deliver on commitments to the FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, or the CRTC’s Broadband Fund, adds the company.
