TORONTO – Digital TV customers will be able to call on four different seasonal music channels from Max Trax and Galaxie while they roast chestnuts and stuff stockings.
Beginning December 1, four of the combined 40 audio digital music services from Max Trax and Galaxie will offer listeners uninterrupted, commercial-free music across a range of formats.
Max Trax’s Holiday Hits channel features timeless and contemporary songs ranging from Sting’s I Saw Three Ships and Madonna’s Santa Baby to Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas and The Barenaked Ladies’ Green Christmas.
Max Trax’s Instrumental Holiday channel features seasonal standards like Andre Rieu’s Silent Night, and Canadian Brass’ Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.
Galaxie’s Traditional Holiday features a heart-warming mix of classic holiday songs performed by some of the world’s best singers, including Céline Dion, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole, while Franco Fêtes celebrates the season with great francophone artists such as Bruno Pelletier, Ginette Reno and Marie-Michèle Desrosiers.
Max Trax/Galaxie is a joint commercial-free, digital music service available to Canadian homes on digital cable through local cable providers such as Cogeco, Rogers, Shaw, and Star Choice satellite television. It offers a 40 channel package – 20 programmed by CBC-owned Galaxie and 20 by Corus Entertainment’s Max Trax. The channels of uninterrupted music cover the most popular musical genres, from classical to rock, pop to jazz, and country to specialty like reggae, ambient and folk.
