MONTREAL – Stressing its representation of “the entire population of Montréal”, Videotron’s community channel MAtv said that its new programming schedule includes a number of new shows that were proposed by viewers.
Starting January 30, the new schedule includes two new English shows, two new French shows, 12 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League regular-season games, and the return of series such as Premières vues and Mise À Jour Montréal .
In addition, Montréalité, hosted by Myriam Fehmiu, provides a forum for community organizations and individuals working for the welfare of their fellow citizens, while CityLife, hosted by Richard Dagenais, and Montreal Billboard, hosted by Kim Sullivan, give Anglo Montrealers a voice, reads the channel's news release.
“MAtv is representative of the entire population of Montréal and reflects the richness of all its communities”, the release says. “It promotes participation by citizens and community organizations in every borough.”
As Cartt.ca reported, the channel was rapped by the CRTC in February 2015 for violating its local and access programming requirements.
Distributed to 1.7 million households served by Videotron across Quebec, MAtv is available on channel 9 and in HD on channel 609. It is also available on illico TV (channel 900), online at illico.tv, on iPad and Android tablets through the illico.tv app and on illico mobile.
