Marie-Christine Jean named VP of postproduction and business development at MELS

MONTREAL – TVA Group’s MELS Studios and Postproduction announced today Marie-Christine Jean (above) is joining MELS’ management committee as vice-president of postproduction and business development effective immediately.

Jean has “over 17 years of experience in the cultural and media industries, including 4 years as a director at MELS, and a leadership style that is as forceful as it is inspirational,” a press release says.

“Marie-Christine is the ideal choice to translate MELS’ modern, innovative vision into strategic action on the ground,” said Martin Carrier, MELS president, in the release. “The energy and managerial expertise she has demonstrated in the course of spearheading major projects will stand her in good stead in her new role.”

Jean will be responsible for MELS’ sound and picture postproduction, distribution services and business development and sales divisions. She will work with Geneviève Brodeur, who was recently appointed to the role of vice-president, studios and business development, “to promote the full range of integrated services that make MELS a unique destination in the industry,” the release says.
