marblemedia makes three exec appointments

TORONTO, LOS ANGELES and LONDON — Canadian production company marblemedia announced today several executive appointments the company says will help support its global growth strategy.

Donna Luke (above) has been promoted to the newly created role of senior vice-president of business operations. In this role “she will lead the strategic and business planning of the company by shaping and organizing production activity,” says a press release.

Her role oversees business affairs, human resources, information technology, operations, production and post production, and “her focus will be to scale the company as marblemedia grows, ensuring a robust corporate governance structure,” the release says.

“Since starting with the company in 2018, Luke has overseen the company’s growing pipeline of 119 hours of primetime content,” the release adds.

“Premium shows require premium talent, and there is no better person to help us scale our business than Donna Luke,” said Matt Hornburg, co-CEO marblemedia, in the release. “As a company we’re always evolving and continue to work on what’s next for entertainment, this new role and additional executive appointments solidifies our growth strategy in the global market.”

“marblemedia are proving themselves to be a force to be reckoned with and I have been fortunate to participate in their success. I am extremely excited to take on this role and for the next steps in preparing marble as we become a future ready company,” Luke said.

The company has been expanding its slate of unscripted content over recent years, and to support that growth marblemedia has hired Stefanie Haist as head of unscripted production “to take over managing productions day to day responsibilities,” the press release says.

Haist joins marblemedia after serving as supervising producer at THA, and she has worked on a variety of series including Undercover Boss Canada for W Network and Hip-Hop Evolution for Netflix.

marblemedia is also expanding the responsibilities of Diane Rankin, senior vice-president of rights and executive producer, to include “commercial development strategy across marblemedia originals, shaping projects for international financing through pre-sales and co-productions and establishing a strong formats distribution business around the world,” the release says.

Rankin joined the company in 2015, and grew the distribution catalogue at marblemedia’s rights arm Distribution360 to nearly 2,000 hours of content, according to the release. Rankin’s executive producer credits include marblemedia’s recent series Overlord and the Underwoods and the upcoming Best in Miniature.
