WINNIPEG – The Manitoba government is considering changes to The Consumer Protection Act that will in turn provide better regulation of cell phone contracts in the province.A public consultation paper has been posted on its website outlining the main issues and potential changes that could be made to these contracts including: - the use of plain language (easy for customers to read and understand); - fairness for both consumers and suppliers; - clearer communication on when contract terms can be changed; and- fair practices and clear information on contract cancellations.Québec is presently the only Canadian province with legislation on cell phones....
