MADE | NOUS campaign to celebrate Canadian talent during CTV’s Oscar red carpet special

TORONTO — The Canada Media Fund’s new MADE | NOUS consumer campaign celebrating the creative work of Canadians in the film, television, video game and digital entertainment industries will make its world premiere from the red carpet at the 91st Academy Awards this Sunday.

The MADE | NOUS campaign will debut during CTV’s official red carpet special, etalk Live at the Oscars, airing on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT. The star-studded 60-second commercial, voiced by Oscar award-winning actor Christopher Plummer, will be introduced by etalk anchor Ben Mulroney from the Oscar red carpet during the broadcast.

Directed by Toronto filmmaker Scott Cudmore (Selena Gomez: Back to You and Feist Feat. Jarvis Cocker: Century video shorts), the 60-second trailer pays homage to Canadian success stories such as Arrival, Deadpool, The Handmaid’s Tale, Orphan Black, Stranger Things, and more. Featured in the promo are Canadian talent including Karine Vanasse (Cardinal) and Jacob Tremblay (Room).

Following its exclusive debut on CTV, a supplementary 30-second commercial is set to air on additional Canadian networks, beginning February 25. The campaign strategy was devised by Torque Strategies, with creative and media from 123West and OMD Vancouver.
