Love Nature to debut Sean Bean-narrated osprey doc next week

TORONTO — Blue Ant Media’s nature and wildlife brand, Love Nature, announced today its new original documentary Osprey: Sea Raptor, narrated by award-winning actor Sean Bean (above), will have its Canadian broadcast premiere on Love Nature on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

“During the one-hour blue-chip special, Sean Bean shares the true story of a pair of magnificent raptors, a life-long couple, as they reunite having traveled separately across continents to the same location year-after-year to raise their young,” reads a press release.

“Filmed in the often-overlooked American wetland, Osprey: Sea Raptor spotlights this unique and ubiquitous aquatic raptor species known for its impressive nests, life-long partnerships, dynamic social interactions and masterful hunting prowess,” the release says.

The documentary, announced in September, is a co-production between Love Nature and the WNET Group in association with CosmoVision Media Group, PBS and CPB for Love Nature.

CosmoVision founder Jacob Steinberg serves as director, and renowned media industry strategist and publisher Peter Hamilton is executive producer. Other executive producers on behalf of Love Nature include James Manfull and Fred Kaufman. Bill Murphy is the series producer. Blue Ant International is handling distribution of the documentary.

Osprey: Sea Raptor will introduce wildlife and nature fans to an incredible osprey couple, thriving among other species in a wild area not far from urban communities. It is truly a reminder of just how close to nature we all are,” says Bean, in the release.

“The talented team that brought this documentary to life tirelessly tracked this osprey couple in their nest for years and I am thrilled that audiences will get a chance to follow their remarkable journey.”
