WASHINGTON, D.C. — Blue Ant Media announced today Love Nature, its wildlife and nature brand, is greenlighting a second season of New Kids in the Wild.
“The second, five-part installment features a new set of baby animals and gives audiences an even closer look into the first crucial months of their lives as they experience their first steps and encounters with the world around them,” explains a press release.
Season two focuses on animals across distinct ecosystems in South America, and each episode follows a different species, including giant river otters, coati pups, South American sea lions, jaguars and endangered muriquis (pictured above).
The series is produced by Off the Fence, and Blue Ant International oversees pre-sales and licensing in the U.S. and international markets.
New Kids in the Wild, Season 2 will premiere worldwide on Love Nature’s linear and streaming platforms and on Sky Nature in the UK, Germany and Italy in spring 2023, according to the press release.
“The passionate fan reaction to New Kids in the Wild was the impetus to create a second installment, in which our filmmakers went even further afield to capture exclusive peeks into the life-building experiences of new little animals,” says Carlyn Staudt, global general manager of Love Nature, in the press release.
“Families and kids will love the cute and heartwarming animal stories that also offer fascinating insight on how vulnerable newborns learn to survive,” Staudt says.
“We’re thrilled to be making another season of New Kids in the Wild with Love Nature,” says Debbie Hinnigan, executive producer of the series for Off the Fence.
“We’re working hand in hand with incredible local teams who despite a global pandemic have managed to capture beautiful images that give a real insight into some of the regions’ most distinctive and iconic animals. Being able to film the critically endangered Muriqui, known as the hippy monkey is something that we’re extremely proud of.”
