LONDON, UK – Love Nature, Blue Ant’s wildlife and nature brand, announced today it is expanding in Spain by launching its first curated channel on Pluto TV, a free, ad-supported streaming service.
“As part of the launch, Pluto TV viewers in the region will have free access to Love Nature’s celebrated natural history series and documentaries in Castilian Spanish,” a press release says.
The deal was brokered by Julio Sobral, Love Nature’s senior vice-president of Latam and U.S. channel distribution and is an expansion of an already existing relationship between Love Nature and Pluto TV that began earlier this year.
“Pluto TV is a valued partner and this deal is a significant milestone in bringing Love Nature’s wildlife and nature programming to the platform’s highly engaged audiences in Spain,” said Carlyn Staudt, global general manager at Love Nature, in the press release.
“We’re continuing to see curated channels as a key way to offer Love Nature’s content to more audiences and we’ve created programming events to draw in viewers to our line-up available free of charge on Pluto TV’s offering.”
In line with this, Love Nature created FinFest, a programming event to be held from Oct. 8-10 as part of its channel launch on Pluto TV.
FinFest “will shine a spotlight on sharks and other marine mammals using captivating science, engaging storytelling, and stunning visuals,” says the press release.
Programming will include episodes of Shark Squad (pictured above), “which takes audiences deep under the ocean to unlock secret shark behaviours and challenge myths about these creatures,” as well as Great Blue Wild, which gives audiences “an inside peek at the wild underwater adventures of diver shop pros who encounter massive humpbacks, majestic manta rays, spectacular schools of fish and menacing sharks.”
Other FinFest programs include “Attack & Defend, an exciting look at the specialized skills that predators and prey use to survive in nature’s daily battle royale; and Africa’s Claws and Jaws, which highlights how sharks are amongst the oldest and evolved predators and explores how people can find safe ways to live in harmony with sharks,” the press release says.
