Love Nature co-producing Evolution Earth with Passion Planet, PBS and Arte

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Love Nature, Blue Ant Media’s Washington, D.C.-based wildlife and nature brand, announced today the greenlight of Evolution Earth (above), a five-part natural history series “that reveals astounding ways wildlife at the front lines of climate change are adapting to their environments,” according to a press release.

The series is being produced by London, U.K.-based Passion Planet, in co-production with Love Nature, U.S. public broadcaster PBS and French-German TV channel Arte.

Shot in extreme locations around the world, Evolution Earth’s storytelling “is carried by a contemporary, investigative podcast style of narration, which dives into the ingenuity of wild species to adapt to bigger storms, longer droughts and warming oceans, while pointing to how humans may also need to adapt to the global changes around us,” the press release reads.

Evolution Earth will debut across Love Nature’s linear and streaming channels around the world, on PBS in the U.S., on Arte in France and Germany, and on Sky Nature in the U.K. and Italy. The press release did not announce when the series is expected to premiere.

Global distributor Blue Ant International is overseeing pre-sales and licensing outside of the commissioning territories.

David Allen, managing director of Passion Planet, is the series producer alongside Oliver Twinch. For Love Nature, James Manfull is executive producer. The executive in charge for PBS is Bill Gardner. Hélène Coldefy is executive producer for Arte.

“Collaborating with the world-class team at Passion Planet has allowed us to embark on this ambitious project that leans into the heightened awareness about climate change, revealing unexpected stories about evolution that are compelling and hopeful,” said Carlyn Staudt, global general manager of Love Nature, in the press release.

“The fresh, conversational tone of the podcast-style narration invites audiences into a discussion about the stories in a way that is truly engaging,” Staudt added.

Evolution Earth offers exclusive access and a timely take on important nature and wildlife issues that audiences around the world are looking for,” said Solange Attwood, executive vice-president of Blue Ant International. “Representing this series to multi-platform partners internationally builds on our portfolio of premium natural history content and our great relationship with Love Nature.”
