LONDON, UK — Love Nature’s premium 4K natural history channel is launching on Antik Telecom in Slovakia, further expanding its reach in Central Europe. The deal was brokered by Chiara McKee, vice-president, EMEA, Kids & Global Networks, for Blue Ant Media.
This latest linear distribution deal follows the June 2019 launch of Love Nature in Slovakia on Skylink, M7’s pay-TV platform, as well as the channel’s launch in August 2019 on Sky across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy, as part of a multi-year pan-European deal.
“This deal significantly grows Love Nature’s footprint in Central Europe,” said Ward Platt, CEO, Global Networks & Kids, Blue Ant Media, in the news release. “Bringing the channel to Antik Telecom allows us to share our stunning natural history programming with even more wildlife and nature fans in Slovakia.”
The channel will be fully localized on Antik Telecom in Slovakia and subscribers will have access to Love Nature’s extensive library of original programming, which includes hundreds of hours of natural history content in 4K and HD on the channel’s linear and on-demand platforms, the release says.
Programming highlights on Love Nature 4K include: Dogs with Extraordinary Jobs (5×60; HDR, 4K & HD; Oxford Scientific Films), which follows a group of dogs whose natural abilities are being harnessed by scientists, rescuers and the disadvantaged to improve lives, increase safety and maintain the health and biodiversity of our planet; Great Blue Wild (4×60; 4K & HD), which showcases the adventures of the world’s greatest dive shops as they encounter massive humpbacks, majestic manta rays, spectacular schools of fish and menacing sharks; and Monkey Island (3×60; 4K & HD), which shares the story of an ancient citadel, once home to Sri Lanka’s kings, which has now been reclaimed by the jungle with a new dynasty in power — monkeys.
A joint venture between Blue Ant Media and Smithsonian Networks, Love Nature is a modern 4K natural history content brand that reaches viewers and lovers of wildlife on whatever platform they use, from linear, OTT, VOD, YouTube and more.
