LoRa Alliance grows to more than 100 LoRaWAN network operators

FREMONT, CA - The global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN protocol for the Internet of Things low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs) topped 100 LoRaWAN network operators globally at the end of December.LoRaWAN networks are being actively deployed, with the Asia-Pacific and European regions showing the most growth, at 30% and 50%, respectively, throughout 2018, the LoRa Alliance said Tuesday.In addition, the number of end-devices connected to LoRaWAN networks is reported to have tripled since the beginning of the year, which the group says demonstrates significant acceleration of adoption compared with other technologies yet to achieve such an expansive footprint.“Reaching...
