PETERBOROUGH, ON – Lindsay Broadband said that an unnamed major MSO in South America has selected its MDU and subscriber amplifiers for what it describes as a “massive, multiyear deployment”.

The rollout, which corresponds to a new service offering from the cable operator, is using Lindsay's LHA38RMA and LRSA1510 models.

The LRSA1510 subscriber amplifiers with 15 dB gain in forward and 10 dB in return help to compensate for losses from splitters and internal cabling in a customer's home, reads the news release. Available in both 1GHz and 1.22GHz versions are ideal for DOCSIS 3.0 or 3.1 deployments.

Configured for 1 GHz, with 38 dB of forward gain and 24 dB in the return, the LHA38RMA building amplifier is perfect for compensating losses of internal distribution wiring.  Its new version of 1.22 GHz will be available in the first quarter of 2017 for all MSOs seeking to migrate their platform to DOCSIS 3.1.

"The new LHA38RMA will be unique equipment in the market, allowing the MSO to configure the return frequencies 42/54, 85/102 and 204/258 in a very simple way”, said president David Atman, in the release.  “Our equipment is the only one on the market that is adjusted using resistive plug-ins which greatly simplifies operation and maintenance."
