PETERBOROUGH, Ont. and KRANJ, Slovenia — Tech equipment supplier Lindsay Broadband announced today it is partnering with Slovenia-based broadband solution provider Iskratel to offer end-to-end GPON and XGS-PON solutions to customers in the Americas.
GPON stands for gigabit passive optical network, while XGS-PON is a 10-gigabit-capable symmetric PON technology. Currently, Lindsay Broadband’s optical solutions include RFoG (radio frequency over glass), nodes, headend, passive, subscriber termination, and FTTx solutions. With the partnership between the two companies, Iskratel brings its European-designed and manufactured GPON and XGS-PON optical line terminals (OLTs), optical network terminals (ONTs), managed node system, and customer premises equipment (CPE) customization tools.
The Iskratel SI3000 Lumia line of GPON and XGS-PON OLTs are programmable, compact, cost-effective devices designed to future-proof networks, says the news release. The scalable SI3000 Lumia OLT fits all deployment densities, from high-density urban to low-density rural areas, while its modular design with multiple chassis options, and a variety of subscriber connectivity interfaces, address every possible use case in the broadband access network, adds the release.
Lindsay is also offering the Iskratel Innbox line of CPE GPON and XGS-PON bridging ONUs (optical network units), GPON gateway ONTs, Ethernet home gateways (RGW) and EasyMesh Wi-Fi-extenders, providing a carrier-class, high-end networking solution for advanced triple-play services.
“Lindsay Broadband is extremely excited to add Iskratel’s Lumia and Innbox offerings to our comprehensive line of optical solutions,” said David Atman, president, in the news release. “We are perfectly positioned to offer quality assured GPON and XGS-PON solutions to our customers, while providing the supporting infrastructure to ease FTTH deployments.”
