Lindsay hires Skarica

PETERBOROUGH – Lindsay Broadband has hired Christopher Skarica as its new vice-president of engineering.

Skarica spent 11 years in cable (Maclean-Hunter, Rogers, Cogeco) before moving to Nortel Networks in 1999 and then Broadbus Technologies (now Motorola) in 2004.

Prior to Nortel, he was the director of engineering for Cogeco Cable’s Ontario Operations. "Christopher has played key roles in the design and implementation of new technologies in cable TV networks including dual band and multi-beam satellite reception, two way optical and RF HFC equipment, SA and GI digital video compression systems, digital DWDM optical transport networks, Packet Cable compliant voice switching equipment, solid state video on demand server systems, and the first full scale MSO launch of DOCSIS based cable modem technology," says the company press release.

"He is both well-known and highly respected throughout the cable MSO industry for his several patents, industry presentations, and development of emerging technologies and end to end network solutions."

Skarica (pictured) spent over five years at Nortel, before moving to Broadbus, and was the chief technology advisor of Nortel’s global cable MSO solutions team. He spent 2.5 years at Broadbus as its vice-president of global technical sales for on demand video servers.

“We are very pleased that Christopher accepted our offer to lead the engineering efforts of Lindsay Broadband” said David Atman, president and CEO. “He has been a longtime supporter of Lindsay Broadband and realizes the potential of our company to re-define the next generation, last mile network infrastructures of multi-service broadband providers. In addition to being highly connected throughout the broadband industry, he brings a special and vital ability to expand and deliver next generation technologies and network solutions for Lindsay Broadband and our ever expanding customer base.
