EXTON, PA – An all-female panel of senior technology leaders discussing DOCSIS, migration to all-IP, bandwidth/capacity, wireless, and connected devices will kick off the opening session of the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2012 on October 17.
The Technology and Operations Leadership panel will explore a cross-section of technology and operations issues and features: Nomi M. Bergman, president, Bright House Networks; Charlotte Field, senior vice president–Infrastructure and Operations, Comcast Cable Communications; Carol Hevey, executive vice president, East Region, Time Warner Cable; and Yvette Kanouff, executive vice president, engineering and technology, Cablevision Systems Corp. The discussion will be moderated by analyst and Multichannel News columnist Leslie Ellis.

The panel will follow a keynote conversation between renowned entrepreneur and inventor Dean Kamen and Mike LaJoie, executive vice president and CTO of Time Warner Cable. In addition, a panel addressing the needs of small and mid-size operators will include: Michael Giobbi, CTO of Armstrong; Wade Holmes, vice president of technology for BendBroadband; Joseph D. Jensen, CTO of Buckeye Cablevision, Inc; Kelly Rehm, technical operations manager and general manager of Massillon Cable TV/Clear Picture Inc; and moderator Ken Wright, principal of Wright Solutions and technology advisor to NCTC.
SCTE will conduct the Opening General Session from 8:30 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. SCTE Cable-Tec Expo will begin with pre-conference sessions and a companion event, the Digital Home Symposium, on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
From Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 17-19, Cable-Tec Expo will feature a full menu of educational opportunities, including: panel discussions featuring industry thought leaders; hundreds of hands-on, technology-centric exhibits; an extensive menu of robust and relevant technical workshops; the International Cable-Tec Games; the IP Challenge; and valuable learning that is driven by peer-to-peer interaction and networking. Special pavilions will address the delivery of digital content and services, as well as smart energy management.
