MONTREAL — Known for stepping away from his NFL career temporarily to put his medical degree to use during the Covid-19 pandemic, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (above) is now appearing in a new Crave original documentary series, J’ai une question (I Have a Question), which premieres Dec. 1 on the Bell Media streaming service.
The NFL offensive guard, who was recently traded by the Kansas City Chiefs to the New York Jets, made headlines during the early months of the pandemic when the Quebec native announced he was opting out of the 2020 NFL season to work as an orderly at a long-term care facility in Montreal.
In the new series, consisting of four 60-minute episodes, Duvernay-Tardif “sets out to meet experts, activists and leaders in order to better understand the societal issues that deeply concern him, namely sports doping, obesity, the impact of technology on sport and food autonomy in Quebec,” says an English translation of Bell Media’s press release.
“I have always been driven by great curiosity in all spheres of my daily life,” says Duvernay-Tardif, in the release. “Throughout the shoots, I had the chance to meet very relevant stakeholders and to dive into the heart of subjects that fascinate me by carrying out experiments related to my questions myself.”
“Laurent’s curiosity is contagious and we quickly get involved in his questions and in his great desire to obtain answers,” says Mélanie Bhérer, general manager of variety, lifestyle and documentary at Bell Media.
“J’ai une question is an intelligent series that can be consumed lightly thanks to the positive energy of Laurent. The questions he asks are topical and will directly appeal to Crave audiences,” Bhérer says.
J’ai une question is directed by Frédéric Nassif and produced by KOTV in collaboration with Bell Media.
