TORONTO – The $25 monthly late fee which Bell ExpressVu (now called Bell TV) has long charged customers who don’t pay their bill on time is illegal under the Criminal Code, Ontario Superior Court Justice Paul Perell ruled this week. An ExpressVu customer filed a class action lawsuit in 2005 after paying the fee a number of times. The fee amounts to an illegal interest charge, ruled the judge.
