Lakeland encourages rural customers to get their Gig on


MUSKOKA, ON – Lakeland Networks has begun rolling out 1 Gigabit fibre service to rural homes and businesses in Ontario’s Muskoka area.The municipally-owned company said Wednesday that it’s rural residential Internet service costs $94.95 per month for unlimited data usage plus free home phone service which includes 1,000 minutes of long distance calls within North America.The $8.6 million project to extend Lakeland's existing fibre network was made possible with $5.7 million from the Small Communities Fund, which provides taxpayer funding for public infrastructure projects that deliver on local needs."We are very thankful for our federal-provincial partnership which we hope to build...
