Kroeger leaves CHUM after 21 years

WINNIPEG – Howard Kroeger, the man who founded CHUM Radio’s successful BOB format and helped lead the parade of North American "playing what we want," or "playing whatever" imitators, is leaving the company after 21 years. Kroeger will focus on his consultancy, Kroeger Media Inc., and has signed an exclusive agreement with NewCap Radio to do research and consulting. “I have literally spent half my life with CHUM, so yes, I am going to miss the people, but at the same time I am very excited at the prospect of what lies ahead,” Kroeger said in a release.
