Koodo’s El Tabador records album to aid fight against hunger

TORONTO – Koodo's star spokescharacter is releasing a special holiday carols album to raise funds for Food Banks Canada. For every download of A Merry Mariachi Holiday, Koodo will make a cash donation to Food Banks Canada to help the fight against hunger. The album of festive carols, featuring original lyrics written and sung by El Tabador himself, is available now for free.

"El Tabador is no stranger to the fight against hunger, but he needs the help of Canadians this holiday season to give it a one-two punch," says Lise Doucet, VP, Marketing and Communications, Koodo Mobile. "This engaging fundraising initiative makes it easy for Canadians to help the fight against hunger. By visiting MerryMariachi.com or our Facebook page, Canadians can help those in need while getting El Tabador's hilarious takes on some holiday classics! It's our way of giving back and saying thanks for making us Canada's most recommended national mobile phone company."

Not only is El Tabador Canada's favourite Luchador and world-class heartthrob, he's adding another notch to his belt as he takes the music industry by storm. A Merry Mariachi Holiday is sure to be a hit with El Tabador's smooth vocals and unique take on old classics including: Silent Fight, O Winter Blows, 12 Days of Regifts, Under Mistletoe and Deck the Pecs. The album is only available until January 6, so get online, download and share the songs while doing some social good at the same time!

"This is a fun and easy way for Canadians to get involved and help the fight against hunger," says Katharine Schmidt, Executive Director, Food Banks Canada.  "We're extremely excited that Koodo is putting the small but mighty El Tabador to work for Food Banks Canada once again. We encourage everyone to download A Merry Mariachi Holiday and help make a difference this holiday season."
