OTTAWA – With the public hearing on the Canadian Television Fund Task Force Report beginning Monday (Cartt.ca will be there, of course), the CTF launched a new web site today showcasing its various funded projects.
Visitors to www.ctf-fct.ca can get updates on Canadian dramas, documentaries, kids’ shows and variety and performing arts programs – along with information on CTF funding activities and governance.
“The new web site tells the CTF story by showcasing the many achievements of CTF-funded programming,” said Valerie Creighton, president of the CTF, in a release. “Along with providing materials to producers to access our funding and information to broadcasters on envelope allocations, the site also ensures that contributors, government, and the Canadian public have current updates on the CTF’s performance in meeting our evolving mandate.”
Additional stories of CTF-funded shows are available on the web site in the 2006-2007 Annual Report which offers detailed analysis of CTF funding streams and the projects they support. A feature on audience data delivers a portrait of domestic viewing of Canadian and foreign programming, including CTF-supported genres.
The new site also includes a funding results section which highlights newly financed productions and returning seasons of shows that will air on Canadian television channels in the near future. A new Governance section on the site contains the CTF board charter describing its mandate, accountability and composition, the CTF’s policy on independence of directors and its conflict of interest guidelines.
