It’s official: The House of Commons refers the Online Streaming Act to the Heritage Committee

By Denis Carmel OTTAWA – After discussing Bill C-11 until almost midnight on Wednesday, the House of Commons proceeded to vote on the second reading of that legislation after question period. At four o’clock, all the votes had been tallied and the government won a majority, with the Liberals obtaining the help of the NDP and the Bloc Québécois. The Heritage Committee usually meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, so they will take it from there. The Committee is composed of five Liberals, four Conservatives, one Bloc Québécois and one NDP.
